Qian "Necole" Liu, 23, was chatting with her boyfriend in China when there was a knock on her door.

An intruder can him and attacked her leaving her murdered and partially clothed body on the floor.

Brian Dickson, 29, who has been charged with first-degree murder, made a court appearance via video in a Toronto court on Tuesday.

"It was an administrative appearance only," said Dickson's lawyer Robert Nuttall, who says he is still waiting for disclosure. "The Crown has to look at it and then give it to me. Once we get disclosure, we can make some decisions, but we will be entering a plea of not guilty."
