Police closing in on brothers wanted for armed robberies

QMI AGENCY

RCMP units from BC and Alberta are searching furiously for two brothers wanted for armed robberies in Alberta. Police believe they are in the Creston, BC, area and may be attempting to flee to the United States.

"The pair are suspected to be armed with a sawed-off shotgun that was used in the robberies of two Alberta gas stations last week. The robberies also involved the use of a stolen ATV quad as transportation," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a statement released early Sunday morning.

"We urge the public to not approach either individual and to immediately contact 911, should they see either of the Butz brothers. We also ask that people in the Creston-Kootenay area be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in and around their properties involving thefts or attempted thefts of vehicles or ATVs."

The suspects are both white and believed to be wearing camouflage clothing.
