OTTAWA - Justin Trudeau and Patrick Brazeau settled into pre-fight routines Friday before the Liberal MP and Conservative Senator knock each other senseless for charity Saturday night.

After weeks of jawing and sparring, the cruiserweights finally get down to business for three two-minute rounds of boxing - the main draw on a card viewers can watch live on Sun News beginning at 5 p.m. for a pre-fight special.

Both men are lending their names and chins to raise money for the Fight for the Cure, and are on track to raise $200,000 for cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital.

A few more dollars will be raised at an auction where the highest bidder gets to take a set of shears to the loser's head for a haircut - part of a side bet between the two shaggy politicians.

Brazeau spent Friday with his kids watching Rocky movies "to get pumped up" for the sold-out bout. He dined on chicken, eggs and salads to load up on protein.

He'll switch to a carbohydrate diet of pasta on Saturday before the match and relax and listen to heavy metal motivational music.

"Just conserve the energy for the pounding Justin will take."

His song list does not include Survivor's Eye of the Tiger hit - Brazeau has instead chosen Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N' Roses and Metallica "to get psyched."

Trudeau planned to spend Friday night in his hotel and watch a movie after a meal of pasta. "It won't be a Rocky movie," he said.

"I'm going to try and fall asleep early, but I don't think it's going to be easy because I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. I am very excited."

On Saturday, he plans to go on a long walk and eat a couple of meals of steamed vegetables and fish and chicken before heading to the fight venue.

He'll exercise with his trainer - light pad work, skipping and stretching - and mentally plan his strategy to get "in fight mode" and visualize what needs to be done in the ring.
