Man dies after Tuesday morning stabbing in Winnipeg

A man was found stabbed around 2:30 am April 24, he later died from his injuries.

A man has died of stab wounds suffered days ago in Winnipeg's north core area, becoming the city's 13th homicide victim this year.

The city police homicide and divisional detectives are probing the incident, in which the 26-year-old victim was found Tuesday about 2:30 a.m. lying on the ground injured in the area of the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Balmoral Street.

The man was taken to hospital where, according to cops on Saturday, he has since succumbed to his injuries.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
