Ontario Provincial Police and independent engineers continue to investigate the deadly June 23 collapse.
The OPP "will be using their technical and heavy equipment skills to begin shoring up the structure to allow for the next stages of the criminal investigation, beginning with removing vehicles from the rooftop parking area," the police force said in a release on Thursday.
Third-party engineers and contractors - NORR Ltd. and Priestly Demolition - are assisting with the investigation.
Evidence gathered will be sent to the OPP Forensic Identification Unit in Sault Ste. Marie for analysis.
Ministry of Labour inspectors will oversee all site activities.
Two Elliot Lake residents, Doloris Perizzolo, 74, and Lucie Aylwin, 37, were killed in the collapse, while 22 others were treated in hospital for minor injuries sustained in the collapse.
