VANCOUVER -- Mounties are denouncing the formation of a new Hells Angels chapter in Surrey, B.C., with the local detachment's top cop vowing to use "every lawful means" to disrupt the club.

Calling the new motorcycle chapter a "spectre," Mounties said they have put additional resources in place and are working with partner agencies, though they did not release any specifics.

"Outlaw motorcycle gangs are not welcome here or anywhere else," Supt. Bill Fordy, in charge of the Surrey RCMP, said in a statement. "If the Hells Angels expect to set up a clubhouse in Surrey I am serving them notice right here and now that they are not welcome."
