CALGARY -- One person is dead and three were taken to hospital after a small plane went down in the Okanagan late Monday afternoon.
BC Ambulance Services got the call just before 5:30 p.m., of a small plane -- a Piper PA30 Comanche -- crashing somewhere in the Peachland area, near Kelowna, about 610 km southwest of Calgary.
Spokeswoman Chris Harbord said at that time they didn’t know exactly where the aircraft went down.
“Search and rescue (were) called and the plane’s since been located ... it’s just been located in the last little while,” she said Monday night. “We sent three ground ambulances and our air ambulance out of Kamloops.”
Two people were later transported to Kelowna and one person was transported to Kamloops.
The plane was on its way from Penticton to Boundary Bay.
