They got their motors running and they've headed out on the highway.

More than 100 motorcyclists, escorted by police, revved up their engines and took off down Hwy. 407 in Ontario Saturday morning to raise funds for several charities.

The seventh annual Canada 911 Ride began at Woodbine Race Track in Toronto and will end at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort in Alliston at around 4 p.m.

The riders will leave the resort at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and arrive at the Wegz Stadium Bar in Vaughan later that day.

According to the organization's site, money raised from the event will be directed to organizations that help children of fallen emergency service workers, victims of violent crime and soldiers who were injured in the line of duty.

Canada 911 Ride says it has raised more than $400,000 since the ride began in 2006.
