TORONTO - An estranged boyfriend is accused of dismembering Hua Guang Liu and disposing of the Toronto woman's body parts at opposite ends of the city.

Chun Qi Jiang, 40, was arrested Sunday and charged with second-degree murder.

"He was a person of interest early on in our investigation," homicide Insp. George Koekkoek said of the accused at a press conference Monday.

He said Jiang, who was not known to police, dated Liu for four years. But he wasn't able to say when they broke up.

Koekkoek was able to confirm the accused is not the same man who reported the mother of three missing to Toronto cops on Aug. 11.

Liu was last seen alive Aug. 10 by friends who dropped her off at her business, a now-defunct Toronto massage parlour called Forget Me Not.

Her foot was found Aug. 15 in Hewick Meadows Park in Mississauga, on the west side of Toronto.

More remains were found over the following days, including in the east-end Scarborough area, around the corner from where the victim lived.

Koekkoek said some of the victim's remains have not yet been located.

Police wouldn't say if the accused has offered any information regarding the whereabouts of Liu's remaining body parts.

"The investigation is very much ongoing," Koekkoek said of the heinous killing, adding the death is considered "a domestic-related" murder.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Jiang is a construction worker who immigrated to Toronto from China in 2002 and has since become a Canadian citizen, Koekkoek said.

The accused made his first court appearance in Brampton, ON, west of Toronto, on Monday morning and was remanded into custody.
