Elderly couple beaten, son shot in BC home invasion

VANCOUVER -- A Richmond, BC, family was rushed to hospital early Sunday following a home invasion during an elderly couple was beaten and their son shot several times.

Richmond RCMP received a report at around 1 a.m. of shots fired at a home, where Mounties discovered a 31-year-old man, who is known to police, with bullet wounds. His parents, both in their 60s, had been assaulted.

A neighbour who lives across the street said he did not know the victims but would frequently see cars coming and going from the home.

All three victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
