Police responded to a break-and-enter call at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 and found the front bay window of the gallery in the city's Yorkville neighbourhood smashed and three pieces of artwork, worth $50,000, missing.
Harbour scene #2 by Sylvia Lefkovitz was missing, along with two Group of Seven pieces: Group of Birches by Frank Johnston and Beach Litter by Arthur Lismer.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5306 or Crime Stoppers.
The Group of Seven were a renowned circle of Canadian landscape painters from the 1920s and '30s.
