TORONTO -- An Ontario jail guard has been arrested and charged for allegedly dealing pot to prisoners.

The guard, who was arrested on Monday, worked at Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton, Ont.

According to a press release from Halton Regional Police, a "corrections officer (was) involved in the alleged trafficking of controlled substances to inmates." Police were notified in July after "suspicious activity" on the part of a guard.

The release goes on to say that Michael Roberto, 34, is charged with trafficking marijuana.

Maplehurst, a massive complex thought to be one of Canada's so-called super jails, made headlines in July 2011 after one of its guards was sentenced to two months behind bars for beating a cowering inmate to the ground during a tense lockdown situation inside the jail.
