TORONTO – Homicide detectives and forensic investigators remain on-scene a at a home in Milton, Ontario where two people have been discovered dead.
Sgt. Dave Cross of Halton Regional Police said officers will hold the Clark Boulevard residence overnight as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unidentified victims' deaths.
"We're not calling it a homicide or a murder-suicide or anything like that at this point," he said, clarifying early news spread via social media that the incident was a murder-suicide involving a child.
However, Cross admitted police are not seeking a suspect.
Cross said police were in the process of notifying next of kin.
"As for the cause of death, that won't be establish until post-mortems are conducted," he said, adding that autopsies are expected to be performed Sunday.
Cross said police rushed to the home around 1:20 p.m. Saturday after a 911 call was place requesting police and EMS assistance.
When officers arrived, they found two people dead within the home.
Cross could not say who made the 911 call.
"The caller is being interviewed by police and is being co-operative," he said.
