PETERBOROUGH, ON - Police say a high school student here with a vendetta against another student dating his former girlfriend hatched a plan to cut one of the boy’s fingers off and mail it to his ex.

Concerned students told police that he had knives and bear spray and had discussed his idea.

Through statements and uncovered social media conversations investigators learned about the potential attack, police said.

The boy, 16, was charged with uttering threats. He was to appear in court Friday.
