Police, acting on a tip, arrested Bernard O'Keefe, 39, at a bar in suburban Laval as he tried to flee out the back door early in the morning.
O'Keefe had been on the run since Sept. 8, when a man was brutalized inside a home in the city's west end.
Two men had entered the home to collect money allegedly owed by the victim. When he refused to turn over the cash he was tied down and forced to endure electric shocks. The suspects also broke both of the man's hands, police said.
An alleged accomplice was arrested two days later.
Police said O'Keefe faces several charges.
