CALGARY – The lengthy list of recalled beef products linked to the XL Foods plant has grown again.

On Tuesday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced some Freson Bros., IGA, and Market Place IGA, products such as beef kidney, tongue, stew, liver, heart, oxtail, and round roast may be contaminated with E. coli.

The CFIA inspected the plant last week after suspending its licence Sept. 27 in the midst of the country's largest beef recall.

On the weekend, XL temporarily laid off 2,000 employees but recalled 800 of them to help work on 2,500 cow carcasses left unprocessed so the CFIA could continue its inspection.

Those 800 workers and CFIA inspectors were back at the plant Tuesday.

The Public Health Agency of Canada said 15 cases of E. coli have been linked to the XL situation.
