TORONTO -- Police are looking for a suspect after a man assaulted a girl in the bathroom at an elementary school in the city’s west end.

Police say a man lurking in a restroom at Portage Trail Community Junior School assaulted a young girl around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

“A student walked into the girls washroom and was approached by a man,” police said Wednesday. “The man grabbed the girl, causing her to fall.”

The girl got up and ran to a nearby classroom, where she reported the attack, police said.

Officers searched but were unable to find the man.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the school’s security cameras.

Police aren’t releasing the victim’s age in order to protect her identity.

The suspect is described as white, about 30 years old, tall, with a skinny build, full beard and thick moustache.

He was wearing a black tuque, black sweater, black shoes with blue stitching and carrying a black satchel.
