Toronto Police are warning the public about the "potential sex offender" following the "suspicious" incident, which occurred during the noon-hour Friday.
"A man wearing a skin-tight purple suit with his face concealed approached five young children near Spadina Ave. and Bloor St. W. around 12:20 p.m.," Const. Tony Vella said Monday. "He made inappropriate comments to the kids and then fled the area.
"The kids contacted police right away."
Vella said officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the man in the purple suit.
The man is thought to be in his mid-50s and has a thin build.
"We are concerned about his intent, so we're trying to identify this man," Vella said. "We'd also like to speak to anyone who has experienced a similar incident."
Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact investigators at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
