Toddler dies after being struck by vehicle in garage

OTTAWA – A 1 1/2 year-old girl is dead after being struck by a vehicle while in the garage of a residence in Clarence Rockland.

According to police, officers of the Russell County detachment of the OPP responded to a “serious injury” around noon on Thursday.

The toddler was taken to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario where she later died of her injuries.

The OPP are assisting the coroner in its investigation.

OPP Sgt. Kristine Rae said there "is no criminal element" to the incident.
