A man who was being treated at a rural hospital after a snowmobile crash is accused of assaulting two nurses, a doctor, a little girl, a police officer, and chasing another child and threatening other patients on New Year's Day.

Craig Allen Huntinghawk, 43, of Waywayseecappo - located about 320 km northwest of Winnipeg - is charged with aggravated assault, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, mischief, failure to comply with conditions of a recognizance, causing a disturbance, uttering threats and two counts of assault.

RCMP previously said substance abuse is believed to have been a factor in the alleged rampage.
Huntinghawk was injured in a snowmobile crash early Jan. 1. Police said a doctor and two nurses were treating him just before 5 p.m. when he became violent, assaulted them and ran away.

He allegedly assaulted a young girl, then chased another child. He also uttered threats toward other patients, some of whom were elderly, Mounties said.

When police arrived, they used a stun gun to subdue him.
