TORONTO A Toronto Police officer sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a car overnight, according to local media reports.

The officer is believed to have been working a paid-duty shift for a film shoot when he was struck on Bathurst St. near Front St. just before 3 a.m.

He is reportedly in stable condition, though he suffered several broken bones.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision.
It appears the officer became lodged in the window of the older-model four-door Toyota, which remained at the scene.

There were no immediate reports of other injuries.
