Flights were cancelled and thousands of people were without power after a blizzard hit parts of Atlantic Canada Saturday.
Environment Canada issued a blizzard warning for much of the region, and called for snow and blowing snow to continue into the night for much of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and
Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Weather Network also predicted that in some eastern provinces, the snow would be "whipped by winds of up to 100 km/h, reducing visibility to almost zero."
Environment Canada said central and eastern Newfoundland can expect between 25 and 55 cm of show by Sunday evening.
The Weather Network also warned there could be some flooding along the New Brunswick coast and the Nova Scotia coast between Halifax and Yarmouth.
Thousands of people in western Nova Scotia were without power Saturday afternoon, and the power company said blowing snow hindered efforts to restore electricity.
Dozens of flights were cancelled Saturday at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
