OTTAWA -- At the point of a gun, two boys looted booze and trinkets from two terrified senior citizens and then kidnapped them, police say.
The two - a 16-year-old who was arrested Saturday and a second who turned himself in to police - were in custody Sunday.
Surete du Quebec spokesman Sgt. Claude Denis said it all started in a chalet in Bouchette, Que., 100 km north of Ottawa, when the boys allegedly burst in on the 65-year-old man and 70-year-old woman.
Their faces masked by scarves, the alleged kidnappers took alcohol, a computer, a wallet and a purse, and then ordered the pair into the couple's car. They were then driven to an isolated barn where they were bound and abandoned, but managed to escape.
At 7:15 a.m. Saturday, a driver spotted the couple on the road.
The seniors were taken to hospital but suffered only minor physical injuries.
The boys will appear in court on Monday.
