PC baby cereal recalled

PC Organics Oat Cereal is among the brands being recalled.

President's Choice is recalling eight varieties of baby cereal due to an unpleasant rancid odour or taste.

There has been one reported illness associated with consuming the affected product. Eating rancid food can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, says the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The CFIA is advising consumers not to use the product if is "has an unusual odour or smells 'off.'"

The products were distributed across the country.

The recall involves all UPC codes and lot numbers of the 227-g packages of Oat Cereal 6+, Rice Cereal 6+ (add water or add breast milk or add infant formula varieties); Rice Cereal with Banana; Wheat Cereal, Wheat Cereal with Mixed Fruit and Mixed Grains with Apple.
