One-third of Canadians are very satisfied with their current employer, a new survey has found.
That means Canadians are some of the most satisfied employees in the world.

The Randstad Workmonitor survey says Canadian employees are the most satisfied amongst the 14 non-European countries surveyed. Only Denmark, Luxembourg, Norway and Switzerland reported higher levels of workers being "very satisfied" with their current employers.

When combining "very satisfied" and "satisfied," the percentage of Canadians happy with their jobs jumped to 76%.

"There are a number of reasons why Canadians have more on the job satisfaction than other markets," Randstad Canada president Jan Hein Bax said in a release about the survey. "With our strong marketplace, employees often find they have more job security and flexibility than other countries, and better work environments."

Of the 7,000 Canadians surveyed online, 53% ranked job security as the most important factor when considering an employer.

The survey was conducted Jan. 20 to Feb. 14 in 32 countries including ones in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Workers between the ages of 18 and 65, who work a minimum of 24 hours a week and are not self-employed, were surveyed. No margin of error was given for the survey.
