Health warning issued against eating walnuts, hazelnuts

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Loblaws are warning the public not to consume in-shell filberts (hazelnuts) sold in 454 g bags and in bulk bins because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The nuts were distributed nationally but there have been no reported illnesses associated with eating them.

On Friday, the agency warned against eating Compass brand in-shell California wlnuts because the product. As well, the CFIA said to avoid Veggie Patch's The Ultimate Meatless Burger since it might be contaminated with Listeria.
