VANCOUVER - A Vancouver Island DJ was reportedly fired after asking BC Premier Christy Clark what it was like to be a "MILF" last month.

In an interview with News1130, Justin Wilcomes, a.k.a. DJ Drex on Courtenay's 98.9 Jet FM, said he never wanted to offend anyone.

MILF, coined in the 1999 film American Pie, stands for "mother I'd like to f---."

Clark replied that being MILF is better than being a cougar - an older woman on the prowl.

The station issued a media statement saying it couldn't comment on employee matters and it was an internal decision.

"I work at a rock station. We do entertainment and comedy interspersed with things in our community. I don't think it was a bad thing," Wilcomes told the station, adding he wasn't given an opportunity to apologize to Clark. "I think more the media attention is what they were angry about."
