Video footage on the internet has revealed shocking evidence documenting Russian backers attacking stadium stewards after Russia's decisive 4-1 victory over the Czech Republic in Wroclaw, Poland on Friday.

According to a report by goal.com on Saturday, four stewards allegedly were taken to the hospital after the incident, The footage shows one man getting beaten to the ground by Russian fans, who also kicked another in the head.

"I can confirm that this happened at the stadium,' Wroclaw police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski told reporters. "The attackers were from the group of Russian language fans. We are trying to identify them.

"Police have the security footage from the stadium. We are looking into it."

Meanwhile, observers in Lviv, Ukraine reported the butting of heads between small groups of Russians and local Ukrainians as they exited the Fan Zone in that city. Police apparently came in to break up the clashes.

Add to that the reports out of Russia accusing Polish hoodlums of attacking Russian fans in the Polish city of Lodz, and UEFA officials must be concerned. Russia and Poland meet on the pitch in Group A action on Tuesday in Warsaw.

UEFA already had to deal with the allegations from Dutch captain Mark Van Bommel that certain racists at a Netherlands practice in Poland on Wednesday used alleged "monkey chants" to mock the team, which includes a handful of black players.
