Vietnamese train passengers want those venomous snakes off their train.

Passengers on a Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi train were terrified to discover four large bags full of snakes, including highly venomous king cobras, during a station stop last Thursday.

Each 45-kilogram bag was stuffed with live snakes, but they all had their mouths stitched shut. Railway officials said the snakes were likely being smuggled to restaurants in Hanoi. Snake meat is a delicacy in Vietnam, although cobras are a protected species.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bootleg baggage. Railway workers turned the snakes over to forest rangers, who released them into the forest.
