248 human fetuses found in forest in Russia

QMI AGENCY

Police in western Russia are investigating why 248 human fetuses were dumped in a forest.

Investigators said residents in Urals found some of the fetuses scattered in the grass and others in plastic barrels preserved in formaldehyde on Monday, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reports. The barrels were labelled with the name of the hospitals and registration numbers of the mothers.

The fetuses originated from several hospitals in the nearby regional capital of Yekaterinburg and were supposed to be disposed of by an unidentified company, police said.
