Aminibus crashed into a train in the Polish town of Bratoszewice on Monday, killing nine of the 10 people on the bus.

The BBC reports the overcapacity six-person minibus collided with the train at an unguarded crossing.

The force of the collision sent the bus flying 30 metres, instantly killing five women and three men. A ninth person later died in hospital. One woman is still being treated for serious injuries.

Most of the passengers were Ukrainian seasonal workers en route to a local food processing factory. Authorities don't know why the bus failed to stop for the passenger train.

Nobody on the train was injured.
