A four-day Xbox videogame marathon has landed a 15-year-old Ohio boy in hospital after he collapsed from severe dehydration.

The Columbus teen was playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and only came out of his bedroom to use the bathroom, take a quick shower and get some snacks, his mother told NBC4.

The boy was taken to hospital in an ambulance Tuesday morning when his mother saw him fall over and noticed his lips turned blue.

His mother said she took away his Xbox.

Last month, an 18-year-old man reportedly collapsed and died after playing the videogame Diablo III for 40 hours straight at an Internet cafe in Taiwan.
