Donald Trump, who was expected to be part of a "surprise" publicity stunt on the convention floor Tuesday, has been scrapped from the list of attendees, and a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert planned for Monday night was also scrapped because the grand ol' party was delayed by a day.

The host of The Apprentice was reportedly going to "fire" an Obama impersonator at the convention.

Trump, a controversial conservative figure who champions the "birther" issue and believes President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and therefore is not legally allowed to be president, was also slated to meet here with high-profile donors to Republican candidate Mitt Romney's campaign.

According to several reports, some Republicans are relieved Trump won't be a part of the week-long convention here at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, given his oft-controversial comments.

But everyone seems upset that Lynyrd Skynyrd isn't playing.

A staple at GOP conventions, the southern country rockers' Monday night outdoor concert was cancelled Sunday because of the weather and the condensed convention schedule.

But rockers, don't fret yet. Michigander Kid Rock, who has publicly stumped for Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan and whose song Born Free is the Romney campaign theme song, is still scheduled to play Wednesday night, and the band Journey is still planning to rock out Thursday night.
