Both candidates in the US presidential election have less than a week to gain ground after Superstorm Sandy temporarily derailed the campaign.

President Obama has called off another day of campaigning to monitor recovery operations after New York City Mayor Bloomberg rejected his offer to visit.

Meanwhile, Republican candidate Mitt Romney cautiously resumed campaigning Tuesday in Ohio and Iowa, moving on to Florida Wednesday.
