Comedian Kathy Griffin left some TV viewers unimpressed when she pretended to perform oral sex on Anderson Cooper during CNN's live New Year's Eve broadcast.

Before the show began co-host Cooper tweeted, "I want to apologize in advance to anyone @kathygriffin pokes fun of/makes out with/strips down in front of/punches."

On Monday night's show from Times Square in New York City, Griffin told Cooper she was going to "tickle his sack."

Later, Griffin repeatedly bent down and put her face near Cooper's crotch while he tried to push her away and carry on with the broadcast.

Some viewers on Twitter and YouTube were stunned by the comedian's antics, although it's not the first time she's raised eyebrows on the annual special.

"Poor guy... Actually poor program for New Year's eve. Tasteless," wrote a YouTube user identified as kbsmb on Tuesday.

Another wrote, "To act like that on national television is completely inappropriate. Not to mention idiotic,'" starbuck4774 said.
