On Feb. 8, Jessica Bennett, 33, and her two-year-old son were on Delta flight 721 from Minneapolis, MN, to Atlanta, GA, when, during the final descent, her son began to cry, court documents say.
Bennett said that a passenger sitting next to her "told her to shut that ['N word'] baby up," then turned and slapped the child in the face, court documents allege.
Joe Rickey Hundley, of Hayden, Idaho, was charged with assault last week.
On Sunday, AGC Aerospace and Defense, Hundley's employer, said he'd lost his job.
"Reports of the recent behaviour of one of our business unit executives while on personal travel are offensive and disturbing," the company said in a statement. "We have taken this matter very seriously and worked diligently to examine it since learning of the matter on Friday afternoon. As of Sunday, the executive is no longer employed with the company."
