At least three people are dead and three more injured after a shootout between two moving cars caused a fiery five-vehicle crash on the Las Vegas strip Thursday.

A shootout broke out between a Maserati and an SUV as they drove along Las Vegas Blvd. near Flamingo Rd. - in the area of famed casinos such as Caesar's Palace and Bally's - early Thursday morning, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

The gunfire resulted in a five-vehicle crash at about 4:30 a.m.

The crash caused a taxi cab to burst into flames, Sgt. John Sheahan told The Associated Press. The taxi driver and passenger were killed, as was the Maserati driver.

At least three other people were taken to hospital with injuries, including a passenger in the Maserati.
