A fundraiser for the cop who shot and killed unarmed black teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri has earned some $50,000 more than a fundraiser for Brown's family in just half the time.

As of Friday morning, the Michael Brown Memorial Fund had earned $154,594 from 5,658 people over eight days.

"I don't have much money to give. But this is gesture of solidarity. I know my money will never bring your son back but he is important. And there aren't many ways to show that in the world we live in," wrote $10 donor Caitlin Williams.

A fund called Support Officer Darren Wilson, however, earned $212,337 from 5,264 people in four days.

Many of the donations come from people who said they were police officers, former police officers, and police supporters and family members.

"NYPD has your back, brother. Hang in there," wrote $200 donor Patricia Scannell.

Despite the uneven donations on the two GoFundMe.com pages, a number of other Mike Brown-related fundraisers are also making money.

The Mike Brown College fund for the teen's three siblings had garnered $264,393 by Friday morning. More than 944 "Don't Shoot" T-shirts had been sold, with all the proceedings going to Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment to pay for protesters' bail, legal support and supplies.

And $156,267 had been donated to Feed The Students of Ferguson, a campaign or the St. Louis Area Foodbank aimed at supporting local kids who usually depend on school lunch programs.
